Needs Assessment in Four Counties

March 2017 – LEGAL conducted its Needs Assessment in four Counties in Liberia to identify key issues affecting the LGBTIQ Community and other vulnerable women and girls. Key lesson learned; limited access to protection and health services, key population experience high risk of abuse and violence, members of the LGBTIQ and Sex workers are throw out of accommodation, deny of job opportunity,social inclusion in private and public spaces etc.

In Relations to protection and health, it is based on this background that LEGAL is now engaging service providers and the Police and Lawyers through dialogue and training at the community, who will serve as alias for LEGAL. Please find attached the information.

Nominated to Serve as Rep in West and Central Africa LBT Movement

August 23rd-27th, 2016 – LEGAL attended a week-long meeting in Grand Bassam, Cote D’ Ivoire on the formation of CAL’s movement in West and Central Africa, and was nominated to serve as the representative on the technical working group committee for Anglophone countries in West Africa under CAL’s Movement called “WACA”.

July 27th 2016 – LEGAL meeting with Dr. Djibril Diallo, Regional Director / Regional Support Team for West Africa/Senior Adviser to the Executive Director of UNAIDS and presented LEGAL’s platform on HIV and AIDS prevention and awareness conducted at the community level.
