LEGAL Monitoring and Evaluation In House Training For Staffs In December 2021.

On the 17th December 2021, LEGAL started an in house training for staffs to have basic knowledge in Monitoring and Evaluation, and also how to link Programming and M&E.

LEGAL/Epic Monthly Performance Review Meetings with Peer Educators, Peer Navigator and Outreach Workers.

On 31st January 2022, LEGAL conducted Epic Monthly Review meeting with Peer Educators, Peer Navigators, Outreach Workers and staffs under the Epic Project to evaluate their performance in the field for the month of January. We discuss the challenges why some of them are not meeting their target, and to also to discuss the way forward to meet our targets.

LEGAL/Epic Know Your Status Campaign.

On the 28th January 2022, LEGAL commenced another monthly Know Your Status HIV/AIDS testing Campaign under the Epic Project for the month of January. We had 60 participants during the campaign, we encouraged them to know their health status.

LEGAL and National AIDS Commission Partners Meeting

On the 2nd of February 2022, LEGAL and National AIDS Commission Partners Meeting at LEGAL Office. The Commission want to be visible this time around to Key Population organizations especially with LEGAL. They love the work we are doing toward PLHIV and they are also willing to provide support once it’s in line with the Commission Jurisdiction. Because of our immense effort over the years towards the LGBTQI community, the commission thought it wise to work along with LEGAL.

LEGAL Data Verification Under the Epic Project at Barbara Ann Hospital with Data Clerk

On the 2nd February 2022 the Project Coordinator (Joe W Thomas), Monitoring and Evaluation Manager ( Reuben T Willie) and Jenneh Mustapha ( Index Testing Field Officer) under the Epic Project started data verification to see that all our beneficiaries that we reached under the project has been entered in the DHS2 system, PLHIV Client and their Sexual Partners are also captured in the system.

LEGAL/KTK Follow Up and Monitoring Visit

On the 24th January 2022 the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager and Outreach Officer do follow up and monitoring visit on the KTK /UNPBF Project implementation site in Grandbassa (Krotrow Village) and Rivercess (Gbediah’s Town and Cestos City) to see what has changed since we started the project in May 2021 to present. Most of the beneficiaries said that the project make them to know more about Human Right and also know that the right of everybody should be respected.

LEGAL 10th Years Anniversary

On the 26th January 2022 LEGAL as an organization celebrated its 10th Years Anniversary as a Human Right Organization advocating for the Right of LGBTIQ Members in Liberia. We climaxed the celebration with a round table dialogue with CSOs partners, Foreign Missions, Donors and Embassies both in person and zoom call. We present the work we are doing since 2012 to 2022, our challenges and recommendation. We presented Certificate of Recognition to CSOs partners, Foreign Missions, Donors and Embassies. The program was held at ActionAid Conference Hall.

LEGAL/SoSNoL Prison Visitation and Distribution of Food and Non-Food Items.

On the 10th January 2022 LEGAL/SoSNoL visited the Monrovia Prison and distributed Food and Non Food items like Rice, Oil, Cube, Klim Soap and RexoGuard Disinfectant for the inmates. The authorities where very pleased and welcome the ideas and willing to work with LEGAL/SoSNoL. As an organization this is one of our focus working with the Courts and Prisons.

December 21, 2021- Eight beneficiaries and surviving victims of the Cheesman Cole Hate Crime and torture case have received funding, food supply and accessories from Railroad Rainbow and ISLA through our organisation to assist in their relocation and safe keeping while the case is in court.

December 21, 2021- for the end of the financial year, we distributed food, rice, cooking oil and vita cubes to our network of beneficiaries, community members and partners, to assist them in making enough meals through the seasonal period.

Over 100 beneficiaries from the LGBTI community, security firms, banks we have worked with over the NGO’s calendar year received food support.

We also identified with protection officers working alongside us, as well bank tellers and community leaders.

December 8, 2021- with support from the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and in collaboration with the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR) under the Theme: “Reflecting on the gains made & Planning for the future”, we along with our partners SoSNoL, LEN, LIPRIDE,S4S, UNITED SISTER’s and TNOL have successfully completed our three day workshop and retreat.

The 3 day awareness workshop, retreat and celebration was to enhance and increase the knowledge of Monitors on SOGIE issues and also build stronger relationships between the LGBTQI community, INCHR and jointly participate in developing strategic partnership.

December 7, 2021- with support from the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) day 2 of our 3 day awareness workshop, retreat and celebration to enhance and increase the knowledge of Monitors on SOGIE issues commenced under the Theme: “Reflecting on the gains made & Planning for the future” and in collaboration with the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR)and in collaboration with the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR)

The workshop began with a recap of day 1 and a group exercise on identifying human rights violations, coming up with strategy’s and instruments to support laws and recommendations to help support the protection of human rights.
